Buc Blast Off
2026
On January 29, 2026, ASB hosted an annual event we like to call Buc Blast Off. This annual tradition invites students from our feeder elementary schools to visit campus for a showcase designed to introduce them to life at Bellflower Middle & High School. During the event, various organizations and clubs performed and shared their experiences, helping incoming students gain a better understanding of what life at Bellflower will be like after promoting from elementary school.
ASB also introduced a variety of staff members, including administrators and counselors, and explained the electives and clubs available to students beginning in 7th grade. These performances gave students an exciting glimpse into the activities they may choose to join. The groups that performed during this showcase were: High School Ensemble, Middle School Choir, Jazz Band, Mariachi Band, Drumline, Competition Cheer, Middle School Cheer, Color Guard, and Filipino Club. Meanwhile, Link Crew and ASB members hosted interactive games that encouraged incoming students to engage with one another and with current Bellflower students.
A special tradition of Buc Blast Off allows the senior class to participate by “passing down” their class color to the incoming 7th graders. Our Senior Class President shared why their class color represents them, what it symbolizes, and the memories and values it holds, creating a meaningful connection between the graduating class and the future Buccaneers.
While Buc Blast Off served as an informative rally, the two-hour event was filled with fun and energy similar to our high school rallies. To conclude the event, students participated in guided tours of several CTE classrooms, including Culinary, Aviation, Graphic Arts, Automotive, and Health Occupations. Overall, Buc Blast Off provided an engaging and memorable experience for our incoming 7th graders and future Buccaneers.
